WHAT YOU WILL MAKE

Make three small design trials and a repeatable original cartoon version. Focus on ear shadow shapes.

Draw it step by step

Use one dark shape to suggest a recess.

  1. Try three small versions, changing one shape or proportion each time. Keep the choice playful and respectful.
  2. Draw the outer shape and main fold.
  3. Find the largest dark recess.
  4. Shade it as one shape and leave the rim light.
  5. Choose one trial. Draw it twice while keeping two identifying details consistent; use clean selective lines.

Common drawing problem: All inner areas equally dark

Repair: Reserve the darkest mark for the deepest visible shadow.

Check your work: Which two details make both drawings belong to the same design?

Materials: pencil, eraser, paper, and a mirror or teacher-approved reference. Optional black drawing pen; no painting required.
