Character Bedroom Diorama — Grade 5
Make a miniature room showing character through furniture, color, objects, and arrangement for a chosen audience, with ethical inspiration notes, iterations, and an artist statement. Use the example for ideas, but choose your own subject, colors, arrangement, and details.

Study the example for possibilities, then close or cover it. Your work should make different choices.
What to do
- Make your own version of “Character Bedroom Diorama”. Keep the subject in the title, but invent the design and story details.
- Your core skill today: Test a design against its intended purpose and revise using feedback.
- Draw the character or setting from the front. Circle the three largest parts and name the material needed for each.
- Build a cardboard base, then attach the largest upright pieces using folded tabs and tape. Test that it stands before adding small details.
- Add one face, costume, object, or setting clue that tells a viewer who lives in this story world.
- Check joins from every side. Repair loose parts, then photograph the model as a still scene. A model is anime-inspired design, not animation until frames are recorded.
- Name one change that made the result clearer. Label or dictate your name and title, share the work, and clean the tools.
My project: I am making a miniature room showing character through furniture, color, objects, and arrangement for a chosen audience, with ethical inspiration notes, iterations, and an artist statement. Draw or write your idea.
My choices: Circle or write the colors and materials you will use.
My plan: Draw the big shapes or main parts and show where they will go.
My first step: What will you make first?
Halfway check: What part needs to be added, moved, fixed, or made stronger?
Finish check: Are the main idea, important details, and connections complete?
Share: One choice I made was… One change I made was…
Skill evidence: Test a design against its intended purpose and revise using feedback. Show your test and explain what you chose; speaking or dictation is welcome.
